01 / DOCUMENT SECURITY
Care at every step.
Agreements carry personal details, business decisions, and commitments. Countersigned’s hosted-service configuration brings together these safeguards.
Access with a purpose
Workspace access requires an authenticated owner account. Recipients use individual invitation links, and senders can add an access code. Treat signing links as confidential.
A record of the agreement
Countersigned records consent and signing activity, generates a completed PDF and completion record, and checks retained document hashes when serving downloads.
02 / YOUR DATA
Your documents stay yours.
- Used to deliver your agreement
- We process documents to prepare, send, sign, and retain them, support your requests, and protect the service. We do not sell your documents, use them for advertising, or use them to train AI models.
- Shared with the people involved
- Senders and authorized recipients can access agreement records and downloads. Signing evidence can include names, emails, timestamps, signatures, IP addresses, and browser information. Participants control any copies they download.
- Hosted in the United States
- Countersigned’s cloud infrastructure is configured in the United States on Amazon Web Services, which provides hosting, storage, account authentication, and email delivery. Contact us about any location or processing requirements before uploading.
- Retention you can understand
- Download and keep the records you need. Moving an agreement to Deleted is reversible and does not permanently erase its files or history. For permanent deletion or account closure, contact privacy@docupipe.ai. Legal obligations and other participants’ rights may affect what can be removed.
- A separate choice to use DocuPipe
- Countersigned and DocuPipe are owned and operated by Hoss, Inc. Opening DocuPipe does not transfer your agreements, link your accounts, or start AI processing. The Countersigned AI preview uses example data.
03 / SIGNING EVIDENCE
Know what the record tells you.
Good records make an agreement easier to understand. Countersigned keeps the following evidence together with the document.
- Consent and intent
- Signers review an electronic-record disclosure, accept electronic signing, adopt a signature, and deliberately submit it. Countersigned records the disclosure version and relevant event times.
- Document association
- Document and signature hashes associate captured activity with the agreement. The completion record includes original and final document hashes, participants, signing times, and event history.
- Integrity checks
- Retained original, completed, and completion-record PDFs are checked against stored hashes on download. Events are linked by hashes, helping detect changes within the stored history.
The scope of this evidence
Possession of an invitation link is not independent identity verification. Countersigned does not currently provide certificate-backed PDF sealing, trusted timestamping, notarization, or qualified electronic signatures. Its event history is not an independently immutable archive. Whether electronic signing is suitable depends on the agreement, the parties, and the applicable law.

A little more clarity.
Does Countersigned train AI on my agreements?
No. We do not use your agreements, attachments, signatures, or field values to train AI models. The AI demonstrations on the website use example data. Integrated document AI is still in development.
Does deleting an agreement permanently erase it?
No. Deleted agreements can be restored, so the workspace action does not erase stored files or signing history. For permanent deletion, contact privacy@docupipe.ai and mention Countersigned. We consider legal retention needs and the rights of other participants; we cannot delete copies others have already downloaded.
Can I request a data processing or business associate agreement?
Contact privacy@docupipe.ai with your requirements and identify Countersigned. Any applicable agreement and safeguards need to be confirmed for this product before you upload information that requires them. DocuPipe agreements do not automatically extend to Countersigned.
How do I report a suspicious invitation or security issue?
Email countersigned@docupipe.ai with “Countersigned security” in the subject, a description, and the relevant agreement reference if available. Do not include passwords, access codes, live signing links, or confidential documents. We can arrange a suitable way to exchange details.

The Terms & Conditions cover use of the service, sending and signing responsibilities, and document retention. The Privacy Statement covers personal information, service providers, cookies, and your privacy choices.
